Register NowWe all want our students to come out of our classes with the ability to make an informed choice in relation to the gospel and leave with positive memories of their time with us studying the word of God.
BUT current systems often leave students antagonistic towards an ethics-based Christianity with limited knowledge of the Bible.
It's not like other subjects:
- There is no common curriculum
- No common resources.
- No methodology course specific to the subject.
- Each school is doing their own thing.
- We are left to make up our curriculum, and units of work.
- Many who deliver the program are either not trained in education or have no theological training.
- We can't even decide on a common name for the subject (Divinity, Christian Studies, Biblical Studies, Theology, Christian Living, Religious Studies, Religion and more)
Our Approach is...
Bible Based
We focus on the word of God as the foundation of our approach and what we teach.
Classroom Tested
Over 40 years our curriculum has been used and adapted in our classrooms.
Literacy Focused
We focus on teaching students how to read and draw meaning from God's word.
Meet David (Dad)
He began teaching in rural nsw and was confronted by someone with suicidal thoughts, challenged by his lack of preparedness he went to Westminster (Philadelphia) to get his MDiv and ThM.
When he returned he landed a job as Head of Biblical Studies at a large Christian school in the western suburbs of Sydney. Here David established a robust curriculum that saw many students come to faith, established solid theological foundations, and enabled students to leave with a high level of biblical literacy.
Even after retiring David frequently has past students contact him to thank him for his lessons and share how his teachings have impacted their lives.
Learn more about DavidMeet Dan
Dan began his teaching career in 2006 teaching Christian Studies in an Anglican school in South West Sydney, while completing his DipEd and MDiv part-time. In just his second year of teaching, he was thrown into the deep end having to develop a Christian Studies program alongside his new head teacher.
He continued to grow and eventually became head teacher of Biblical Studies in an Anglican school in a low-SES background. Here he established a strong Biblical Studies program, grew the Christian lunch groups from 10 students to well over 100 and left strong biblically grounded units of work that are still used at the school 10 years after he left.
